At the pace we’re living nowadays, it’s very easy to be overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of life and its challenges. To thrive in this environment is nothing short of an amazing achievement.
To thrive is to truly live
Many will choose to go trough the motions and just survive. They’ll wake up in the morning, eat, go to work, come back home to watch TV and do it all over again the next day. Then, you do it over and over until the weekend comes and “rest”.
I am no one to judge that lifestyle, but if you’re reading this blog post chances are that you don’t fall into that category. Chances are that you’re working hard every day to accomplish more because you have goals and aspirations. Maybe you’d like to travel, to earn a better living, or to be more enlightened.
Whatever the case may be, I urge you to continue down the path you’re going and don’t fall into the previously mentioned cycle. Now more than ever, your community and those around you need your talents and your contributions.
You were born to thrive and to do great things and to use your talents and be a great provider, to be a great family member, a great citizen and a thriving member of this planet. Our time here is limited and what you do now is what matters. It will resonate in those you’ve touched and those that will live on long after.
5 reasons why you shouldn’t quit
If you’re not convinced yet about marching on with your projects or journey here are five reasons why you shouldn’t quit.
Rome was not built in a day
This is a cliché but it’s so true. Whatever you’re working on will take time. We all want instant results and we want instant gratification. Take it easy, be patient and keep grinding away. Most of the time your journey will be much like a marathon and not a sprint. Be like a drop of water over a hard surface. Steady and continuous you will eventually break that surface.
Your success might be more important than you think
Sometimes we forget why we’re doing what we’re doing. Does your family, friends, relationship or community depend on your success? Do you personally benefit either physically or spiritually? Ask these questions and make that evaluation. Remember, sometimes what we want to accomplish is bigger than ourselves.
Each step you take is a learning experience
This journey you’re on is teaching you more than you might imagine. At this moment, it might not seem like it is, but believe me, as you continue to grow and mature that knowledge you’re gaining will continue to make you wiser and in the end will allow you make better decisions and better interpret everything you have experienced.
Your tenacity will help you overcome
Talented people have it easy, but if they don’t have a work ethic and tenacity they will never achieve what you can achieve with hard work. How many people do you know that are extremely talented but fall into that cycle of just surviving and not thriving? The great thing is that you do have talent and if you continue working hard you can achieve amazing things.
You’re setting a great example for those around you.
Remember that everything you do resonates with those around you. So if you’re working hard on your goals, journey or challenges then you are impacting those that are witnesses in a positive manner. Not every leader is vocal and sometimes just setting a positive example for your children, friends and family will encourage positive change.
Whatever your journey or your goals may be, be sure that quitting might not yet be the best option. Sometimes it might feel like it’s the only option, but in the end, it will just mean some temporary relief from that overwhelming feeling you might be experiencing at the moment. Stay strong, sail a steady ship and the storm will pass through eventually.
It’s easy to say I know, but I’ve lived it and still experiencing such challenges in life. That’s because thriving is a challenge and can feel like an impossible feat. But the journey you have chosen is for a very special reason that in this moment might not be clear. At the end, however, you’ll look back and take it all in. Then start your next journey.
